Phoenix Children's Hospital Kids Rock Event is a one-mile run for children in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. This non-competitive, non-timed event, is all about having fun and making it to the finish line. Every child is a Rock Star!

Valleywide children in the Kohl’s Healthy Kids and Families Kids Rock Stars program will walk or run their final marathon mile at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Kids Rock event on Saturday, January 16. It is part of the Arizona PF Chang’s Rock and Roll Marathon. The fun begins at 9 a.m. and is open to kids who want to participate. Phoenix Children’s Hospital will be sending more than 1,000 Kids Rock Stars to the event this year which is expected to draw 4,000 kids.
The event is the premier kids run in Arizona with bands playing, cheering crowds and a finish village full of fun and interactive activities for the kids and families. Participants will receive a race medal, goodie bag and t-shirt. 


“This event shows kids how to have fun while being active. It has a true marathon feel with a party atmosphere,” says Juan Tarango, coordinator for Kids Rock Stars center Phoenix program.

The Kohl’s Healthy Kids and Families Kids Rock Stars program is “running childhood obesity, out of Arizona .” The program is in more than 53 schools Valleywide and 3,000 kids are participating. These kids are on their way, to ridding Arizona of obesity!
